KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 – ‘Malam Panel Dungun Membangun’ was well celebrated at Tanjong Lounge, Riverside, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) with the attendance of numerous Dungun public figures who have succeeded in their own field together with officers from various departments in Dungun.
This occasion was held as continuity out of the establishment of the Panel soon after the 2004 11th General Election which its objective is to assemble Dungun citizens from various backgrounds such as academicians, corporate members, prominent figures in both public and private sectors regardless of their place of service.
Apart from that the Vision of this Panel is to function as a voluntary body contributing towards enhancing socio-economic development among Dungun citizens by making knowledge and development as its basis.

The program started as early as 8 p.m. with dinner.
The actual program began after that, starting with prayers recitation followed by a short video clip entitled ‘Dungun Membangun.’
A presentation regarding Dungun Development Plan was also inserted in the tentative handled by a representative of Dato’ Mat Nor Nawi, Deputy Director-General I, Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department. For the record, Mat Nor is a Dungun citizen and also a member in the Panel.
The peak of the program is the handing over duty from former Panel Chairman, YB Dato’ Mazlan Ngah, State Secretary to Dato’ (Dr) Rosli Mat Hassan witnessed by YB Datuk Za’abar Dato’ Mohd Adib, Panel’s Advisor who is also EXCO of the State Government.
In his speech as a new Chairman, Rosli thanked Mazlan for his contribution as well as informing the audience of Mazlan’s willingness to be appointed as a new Patron together with the appointment of Haji Mustofa Abdul Rahman, Dungun District Officer and Haji Zainal Abidin Husin, Yang Dipertua Majlis Perbandaran Dungun as Deputy Chairman and Secretary respectively.
Rosli also took the opportunity to convey regards on behalf of YAB Dato’ Ahmad Said, Mentri Besar who could not attend the program due to packed schedule in Kemaman.
The occasion also celebrated the appointment of Mazlan as a State Secretary and the retirement of Dato’ Haji Ismail Ngah from public service. Previously, Mazlan was a State Finance Officer and Ismail was a Director-General of the National Landscape Department, Housing and Local Government Ministry.
Among other VIPs include YB Senator Hajjah Zainun A. Bakar, Member of the Senate, Dato’ Haji Zakaria Awang, General Manager of State Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), Dato’ Zolkples Embong, Director-General of National Sports Council, Dato’ Alwi Said, Deputy Chairman of Dungun Foundation, Datuk Awang Jabar, Chairman of Sincere Image Sdn Bhd and Dato’ Chang Jong Yu, Director of Yan Concrete-Mix Products.
The performance from Papa Rock, Ramli Sarip together with famous guitarist Man Kidal keeps the occasion warmed. Among songs presented to the audience includes a song entitled ‘Pewaris Anak Dungun’ which inspired by Rosli and composed by Ramli.
The presentation of the appointment certificate to members of the Panel and the secretariat concluded the occasion which ended at 11.15 p.m.
